MACHU PICCHU is the jewel of the Inkas and Cusco. To do this tour you must have a whole day since you have to take a train trip to Aguas Calientes. We recommend going the day before taking the train that leaves at 7pm from Ollantaytambo to take advantage of the first rays of sun in the morning. The tour inside the citadel lasts 3 hours approximately.

For the Andes Race participants and their companions, we have scheduled a tour to Machu Picchu for August 30. The tour lasts approximately 3 hours and would start early in the morning, so we would recommend taking the train on Saturday the 29th after the race.

Inca Trail to Machu Picchu

To make the Inka Trail to Machu Picchu, first of all, the spaces must be separated with a long time in advance, since the spaces are opened to the public in January and it is at that time that 50% of the year’s income is sold . This incredible trek takes us after four days to the imposing Machu Picchu.

Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu

Another option of how to take advantage of my trip to Cusco, is to do the Salkantay trek to Machu Picchu is an alternative to the saturated Inka Trail. This 5-day walk takes us along an impressive path bordering a large part of the snowy Salkantay and then delving into the cloud forest of Cusco. Changing from one landscape to another in a few kilometers. The walk ends in Aguas Calientes from where we will take a bus that leaves us in Machu Picchu in 30 min.

Remember that Cusco is in the altitude, we suggest you see our recommendations to acclimatize and prevent altitude sickness.
